District Licensing Committee Members (x2)

 

Waipa, Otorohanga and Waitomo District Councils require two additional members to join their District Licensing Committee members pool, to help make decisions on alcohol licensing applications within the three districts.  Interested parties who meet the following criteria are invited to submit an expression of interest. 

The Committees meet as required to determine licensing applications, with two members selected for each hearing to accompany the Chairperson.

To be considered for these positions;

  • You must understand community expectations around alcohol licencing
  • You can’t be involved in the alcohol industry or have any appearance of bias
  • You must have experience in decision making relevant to alcohol licensing
  • You must have strong communications skills, be objective and analytical
  • You must have knowledge of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the harm caused by alcohol.

Further technical guidance and training will be provided for the successful appointees.
