Otorohanga District Council and the Otorohanga Community Board is proposing the introduction of a single system of metered charges for all water taken from the Otorohanga town supply, including that used by residential properties. It is currently proposed that this new system of charges would take effect from 1 July 2017.
The application of metered charges to residential properties would be a move away from an existing system where these properties pay a fixed annual fee, regardless of how much water they use. There would also be some changes to charges for existing metered water users.
To help Otorohanga water users understand the reasons behind the proposed change and its likely effects, a newsletter on this topic is to be posted to all Otorohanga community ratepayers, and this will be followed up by two public meetings where further explanation will be given, questions can be asked and opinions stated.
These public meetings will be at the Otorohanga Club, starting at 7.00pm on the following days:
Monday 2 March 2015
Tuesday 10 March 2015
