Kawhia & Aotea Liquor Ban 

The possession or consumption of alcohol in any public place in the Kawhia & Aotea Liquor Ban area is PROHIBITED at all times between 23 December 2019 and 7 February 2020.

 

Raglan Road traction sealing

We are commitment to improving the safety of local roads and reducing maintenance costs will soon see parts of Raglan Road sealed.

Inframax Construction will soon be starting minor safety improvement work and traffic calming measures around Otewa School

 

Healthy homes for kiwis

The NZ Green Building Council is a not for profit with a vision of healthy warm homes for New Zealanders.  Working with the sector a free online tool was created where Kiwis can check if their house is healthy and warm.  

 

Summer algae and bacteria monitoring starts

With temperatures beginning to warm up summer monitoring is due to begin at some of Waikato’s popular lake and river swimming spots.

Boil water notice - Tihiroa Rural Water Supply

Residents whose properties are connected to the Tihiroa Rural Water Scheme are being asked to boil their water until further notice.

 

Chemical mowing trial

We have started a chemical mowing trial on three local roads affected by yellow bristle grass.

 

Wharepuhunga Road rehabilitation

Work will soon be underway to improve the safety of Wharepuhunga Road with just over 1km of the road scheduled to be fixed in the coming months.

 

Change of classification of reserve

Objections, with reasons, to the change of classification must be received by Friday 13 December 2019.

We will be spraying some weeds in a few of our parks on 7 & 8 November.

We are  seeking written expressions of interest in relation to maintaining the 2.1 hectare (approx) open drain grass area adjacent to Mair Street in Ōtorohanga.

Proposed Amendment of Traffic Bylaw 2005

 We want to amend our Traffic Bylaw 2005 to improve the safety of those residents on Old Te Kuiti Road who have very limited sight distance when exiting and entering their driveways.
