Kāwhia Community Board - resignation

16 February 2021

Tēnā koutou,

It is with regret we have received George Fletcher’s resignation from his position as the Aotea candidate on the Kāwhia Community Board. George has stepped down to take some time to concentrate on his wellbeing and enjoy his time in their Aotea home. We would like to thank George for his contribution to the Kāwhia and Aotea communities and wish him all the best.

The Kāwhia Community Board will be seeking nominations for an Aotea candidate from Tuesday 16 February 2021. The nomination period will close on Tuesday 16 March.

If more than one person is nominated, then this will trigger a by-election process. If a by-election is required, voting will be from 20 April to 12 May 2021. There are approximately 67 electors eligible to vote in this by-election.

Further details regarding the nomination process are available here, on our Facebook page and advertised in the King Country News.
