Library of Things

A library of things is any collection of objects loaned, and any organisation that practices such loaning. Objects often include kitchen appliances, tools, gardening equipment and seeds, electronics, toys and games, art, science kits, craft supplies, musical instruments, and recreational equipment such as sports and outdoors gear.

Objects that are useful occasionally but cumbersome to store are especially appropriate, such as specialised cookware or niche technology items. Collections vary widely, but go far beyond the books, journals, and media that have been the primary focus of traditional libraries.

Our library of things is stuff you can take home and “have a go” with, or start/complete a project that you’ve had on hand for a while etc.

Some of our Library of Things items include:

  • Makey Makey kit
  • Arduino kit
  • Junior Meccano
  • Duplo
  • Jigsaws
  • Telescope
  • VR headset
  • Home projector
  • C-Pen Reader (text to speech pen)
  • Dremal
  • Pyrography kit
  • Soldering iron
  • Home maintenance tool kit
