We provide services and facilities to more than 10,000 residents, plus visitors, across 1976 square kilometers in our district. These range from the installation of water pipes to the construction of roads and bridges; from cycleways, sports and recreation facilities to libraries and a whole lot more.

The choices we make about the goods, services and works we purchase can have a significant impact on our local communities and the quality of life we have in Ōtorohanga District.

Through our procurement processes, we aim to achieve sustainable value-for-money results for ratepayers and residents in ways that support wider social, economic and environmental outcomes and support the long-term well-being of our district.

We have collaborated with other local Councils to develop a progressive procurement toolkit, which will help achieve these sustainable outcomes in conjunction with suppliers.

We want to build relationships with suppliers that encourage fair competition and innovation and share our goals.
