Scratch and Win This Summer: Stay Safe on the Roads!

This holiday season, we’re putting the spotlight on road safety and giving you the chance to win some awesome summer goodies! For the month of December, or until the prizes are exhausted, stop by the Council office to take part in our "Scratch and Win" promotion.

As summer heats up, so does activity on our roads. It’s a time when families travel, friends gather, and tamariki make memories. With more vehicles on the road, it’s crucial to stay sharp and prioritise safety. Our promotion is a fun way to brush up on road safety knowledge and keep these important habits front of mind.

Key Road Safety Tips to Keep in Mind:

  • Fight Fatigue:
Long drives can be exhausting, especially during holiday travel. To stay alert:

    • Plan regular breaks every two hours.
    • Share driving responsibilities if possible.
    • Get a good night’s sleep before hitting the road.
  • Check Your Tyres:
Your tyres are your connection to the road. Before heading out:

    • Inspect your tyre tread to ensure it meets safety standards.
    • Check your tyre pressure (including the spare) to optimize performance and fuel efficiency.
  • Be Prepared:
Road safety isn’t just about driving—it’s about being ready for the unexpected. Make sure your vehicle is serviced and carry essentials like a first aid kit, water, and emergency tools.

How to Get Involved
Visit the Council office during the promotion period and grab one of our road safety scratch cards. Each card has a question designed to test your road safety knowledge. Answer it correctly, and you’ll walk away with a summer goodies pack!

Limited Time, Limited Stock!
The promotion runs until December 24, 2024, or while supplies last.
