2025 STEM Term 1

Are your children interested in science, technology, engineering, or maths? Do they want to try new things in a hands-on, fun environment? Do they just love making stuff? Then they’ll love the Ōtorohanga Library’s STEM sessions!

2025 STEM Term 1

   Added a month ago

Term 1, Mondays 3.30pm – 4.30pm

littleBits - Ages 8-10

Create inventions using electronic building blocks that snap together magnetically. Learn about the basics of circuitry and motion as you tinker with components such as switches, buttons, sensors, and more! Some of the things we’ve made using littleBits include a self-driving car, an art machine, a bubble-blowing bot, and an alarm.

Term 1, Thursdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm

LEGO - Ages 6+

Everyone loves LEGO! What can you build? We’ve used LEGO to learn Braille, examine the world’s tallest tower, and make everything from mosaics to chess sets and mazes! Join us for an hour of fun and a bit of a challenge - we provide the LEGO. If your kids love LEGO but are too young to attend these sessions, you can borrow our take-home Duplo kit from the library!

Places in these sessions are limited, please contact the library to register and reserve your spot. Phone (07) 873 7175, email or message us on Facebook
