Waitangi Day 2025 at Council

Ōtorohanga District Council (ŌDC) gathered to share kai and kōrero in acknowledgement of Waitangi Day. Our Kaitakawaenga – Iwi Relations Advisor, Cassidy Temese, hosted a reflective session highlighting the mahi that ŌDC have progressed over the past year. 

These highlights included: the development of future concept plans across Kāwhia, Aotea, Ōpārau and the rural districts, the redevelopment of Huipūtea, the opening and dedication of spaces and exhibitions, attending and supporting Poukai, and the Council resolutions to reaffirm the establishment of Māori wards and uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 

We reflect on the places and spaces we have been and look forward to the year ahead.
